Bryan Stanley's Baseball Student-Athlete Blog #3

Hey SLIAC fans! Sorry it’s been awhile since my last post but we have been really busy this week with baseball, school and all that other fun stuff. Last weekend was Easter weekend. Saturday we had a double header against Washington University-St. Louis. This day was quite crazy! With the rain, the game was changed at least five to six times until both coaches agreed on a time and number of games that we were to play. We played a double header starting at five and the next one to follow. We didn’t get finished until 10 o’clock at night.

Myself and a few other players were not able to go home and celebrate Easter with our families. I decided to go to church in the morning with David Mueller. David’s dad is a reverend at a Lutheran Church in Florissant. It was a great church service. After church I got together with Bryce Law and Chris Cravatta, who were also not able to go home for the holiday. We ended up driving around the area trying to find a place to eat. If you know us three, this takes forever to come to a decision. Eventually we decided to go to Hometown Buffet. We ate a little too much and separated for about three hours to take a power nap. After we all woke up we stayed up late playing video games all night.

This week was also a very busy week for us. On Monday my roommate and I (John DuHadway) went to the Blues game, in which they won in overtime. It was nice to go to the game and get a break from everything and go out to have fun. On Tuesday we lost a tough game to Division II rival University of Missouri Saint Louis. We were so close, but that has been the story of the year for us...losing 5/6 games by one run. Last night we played a close and tough game against another rival Fontbonne. We barely pulled it off, but a win is a win and we will take every win we can.

This weekend should be a lot of fun because we have new SLIAC team Spalding coming into town. It should be three great games and also very enjoyable because last year's pitching Coach Mike Stawski is now the head coach at Spalding. Along with Coach Stawski is former teammate Barret Dugger. It should be a lot of fun and we should draw a good size crowd.

Hope everyone enjoyed this week's blog and I will be talking to you soon!
