Wow! Another week has gone by already. I can't believe it! I guess that's a sign that it's been a hectic week. As far as softball is concerned it's been a good week. Since last Tuesday we have won 4 of 6 games and had a player, Rachael Brewer, named hitter of the week. The previous week Lindsey Shuberth was named pitcher of the week, so congrats to both those girls and the rest of the team for the accomplishments.
Now that I think about it, I already talked about last Tuesday's games against Illinois College, so I won't go through that again. This weekend we were supposed to play a SLIAC tournament in Springfield, but Friday's games got canceled. We did get to play Saturday and we won the first game against Principia and lost the second against Webster. This past Monday we played a great couple of games with Hannibal-La Grange. We won the first game 1-0 and lost the second game. The second game was a real heart breaker, there were multiple opportunities for different hitters to hit in the scoring run, but we just didn't get it done. We lost 4-3 in extra innings.
School's been going well. I still haven't decided on a vet school yet, so that decision is always looming in my mind. I have a couple projects I really need to get a good jump on before we come back after Easter break, but other than that school is going well. I've started a self defense class and tonight was our first class. It sounds like it is going to be an interesting class. Tonight the teacher was talking about school shootings and different times when people were attacked and it's a reality today, there is a lot of violence out there.
I'm also excited, because I ordered a graduation present for the other senior on the team and it should be coming in this week. I'm starting to wish I hadn't ordered it so early because I'm not good with surprises and I'm going to want to give it to her early. I also wish I could tell all of you what it is, because it's very special to me and I know she will love it, but I'm afraid she may read this. Maybe I will remember to tell you after I give it to her.
I hope all of you have a blessed Easter and a fun weekend! I remember being little and hunting for Easter eggs. It's so strange now hiding them for my cousins. Time flies, so enjoy every second you can!
