Chris Claypool's Men's Tennis Student-Athlete Blog #3

Hi all!

So it's been a while since I've written and lets just say it's not because I've forgotten. The end of the year has begun and with it has come preparing for tests, papers and projects. It seems as though finals are the least of my worries as of right now. All things considered I'll be lucky if I even make it to finals with everything right now.

The one thing I still am enjoying is tennis. This year's team is a lot of fun and I'm really enjoying it. This past weekend we had the Individual Conference Tournament, and we all did very well which was really exciting. It was a long weekend as we left Fulton Thursday afternoon and didn't return until late Saturday night. Early that next morning, this past Sunday, I was right back at it with a group meeting at noon and was there until 5pm. The one thing that finally tore me away from working was my stomach, as I had forgotten to eat most of that day.

That night I had chapter (if I hadn't already mentioned it, I am an active member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity here on campus). After I decided to take the night off and just relax with the guys in house. It was really nice as it had been a long weekend.

This past week has generally been the "same ol' same ol'" Classes during the day (naps in between are the best thing I have discovered since coming to college), practice in the evenings, and homework at night.

Back to tennis; we now have the Team Conference Tournament this weekend. While last weekend was serious and intense, this weekend is the real deal. It's a bit stressful as each team is coming back with a clean slate. The regular season is done and almost forgotten about as the score is now 0-0! The winner of this weekend moves on to regionals and the first rounds of nationals. We have been able to do well in the past and hopefully can perform well again, as I know the other three teams will come ready to play. But that will have to wait until tomorrow and Saturday as I have a presentation at 9 a.m. that I must keep preparing for!

So until next time!
