Stefanie Larson's Volleyball Student-Athlete Blog #3

Last week was an all around rough week for me. I had a ton of writing deadlines, and I was literally making each of them by the minute. Needless to say my third week of school was pretty overwhelming and it doesn’t look like it’s going to slow down anytime soon.

As for volleyball last week, we only had one game against McKendree, and we lost in three. Something still hasn’t clicked with our team. I feel we played better during our pre-season scrimmage at Wash. U. than we have been for the past two weeks. We’ve been working on getting the kinks out though, and I think practice last Friday and this Monday really helped. We have three days of competition this week, Tuesday was against Greenville, Thursday is against Eureka and Saturday is at Illinois Wesleyan in Bloomington, Illinois.

I’m excited to play at Eureka on Thursday because it’s close to my hometown. I know my family will come watch me play and there’s a good chance some of my friends from back home will too. The down side of playing so far away is we won’t get back until midnight or after and I have to be at work at 5a.m. the next day. I’m even more excited about Saturday though because Bloomington is also very close to Delavan so I’ll be heading home with my family when our games are over. This weekend will be the first time I’ve been back home since the 4th of July. I guess sometimes life gets in the way of living.

Adios amigos,
